Organizational Details & Frequently Asked Questions

What is Lifting for Love?

Lifting for Love is a fundraising event for select local families trying to adopt. Sponsor fees & a percentage of registration fees are donated to our families.

Where do you allocate your donations?

Each year, we set up agreements with our families such that the families receive up to 91% of the sponsorship money they bring in and 31% of the registration fees. We also donate 100% of direct donations.  Lifting for Love also makes a discretionary donation based on funds raised through the event, swag, and raffle sales.

How do I know my money is going to a select family?

When you donate using our online portal, you can choose a family in the drop down box. All other donations and sales go into the pot for families to split.

How do you fund the event?

Lifting for Love is funded mostly by our generous sponsors, donations, and swag sales. Our goal is to cover our fees and be able to support our families.

Is the staff of Lifting for Love compensated?

None of the staff at Lifting for Love are compensated. We are an entirely volunteer workforce.

This is a charity event. Why are there prizes?

Like any competition, prizes bring in athletes, and athletes fund much of our event and donations to the families we support. We see a substantial increase in registration when prizes are included. Of course, any team or individual can elect to donate their prize money back to the organization.
